A pair of industrial shelving units and wooden tool chest originally from the Alfred Herbert lathe tools factory in Coventry.
The units are made from heavy gauge sheet steel with tubular legs and solid steel ball feet, and are believed to have been made at the factory for use within their workshops.
One unit has the addition of steel edging on the top shelf with a waxed lockable drawer underneath.
Both shelving units came in extremely rusty with damage to the original feet. Solid ball feet and new fixings were replaced to ensure stability. The shelves were cleaned of any loose rust and given a clear lacquer to give a rich chocolate coloured finish.
The old scratch built wooden chest is constructed from tongue and groove/ wooden plank timber and has a lockable hasp with iron handles that match the drawer handle on the shelving unit.
The chest has a fully waxed exterior and painted interior. Some signs of scarring, holes, and wear as expected with an item of this nature.
Chest Dimensions: H:30cm W:51cm D:38cm
Discolouration, age related marks, and signs of wear add to the charm of these authentic vintage industrial items.
Price stated is for the set of three items.
